Baby Blacks

Here are the photos of the two baby Black Americans:

The two boys together: L-R GWC Negative and GWC Time Lapse

The promising looking baby, will have to wait and see if he's a show pig or not!

The 'not so promising' but still darn adorable baby, only white in the front of the crest and an unfortunate nose snip.

Babies!!

Sybil and Ronnie popped today(yes, both of them!), Sybil had four babies this morning before I left for uni and then Ronnie had four babies when I got home from uni, literally perfect timing, just as I was leaving and just as I got in so I had the pleasure of watching both the births :D

So, we have 8 babies total, it looks like 4 sows and 4 boars(both had 2 of each) but I will double check that tomorrow when everyone is dry, fluffy and more settled.

Yayyy for happy, healthy mums and babies!

House Warming Party

Sybil and Ronnie moved inside today so I can keep an extra close eye on them in their last week(s) of pregnancy and first weeks of motherhood(fingers crossed touch wood). To celebrate I've recycled some of the gift bags from my birthday and filled them with hay to make little piggy houses for the upstairs pigs, they love them, I do it after every occasion that leaves me with suitable paper bags!
Here's the two skinny ladies enjoying their bag houses(I didn't want to disturb Sybil and Ronnie for a photo but may get one if the opportunity arises).

Expectantion Analysis

In this post I'm going to be analysing what I'm hoping to get from an impending pet litter.

My two fuzzy ladies 'Sybil' and 'Ronnie' are confirmed pregnant, their earliest due date is the 9th, they are both showing a decent sized belly and I've felt definite wriggles in Sybil(Ronnie doesn't sit still long enough!).
The dad to be is 'Gunky McJizzum Trousers' (pictures of the trio are in an earlier post here: Courting).

What I'm Expecting

Coat Type:

Sybil and Ronnie are twin sisters(not identical), their mum was a rex and their dad was an alpaca so they have slightly longer(fluffier) than normal hair, they are obviously rexoid(coarse crinkled hair) and they both have at least 3 rosettes(two on their rump like their alpaca daddy and one or two extras here and there that are quite well hidden by the rexoid coat).
Gunky is a Rex X Aby, he does not have a rexed coat like the 'Rexyruvian Twins' but he does carry the gene(from the rex parent), he also has three rosettes, two symmetrical high on his back and one on his right shoulder.
So... babies will have a 50% chance of having a rexoid coat, as both parents have a smooth parent there's also a 25% chance of a smooth baby(no rosettes), I'm aiming for babies with a rexoid rough(rosetted) coat like Sybil and Ronnie which is a chance of 37.5%.

Colour:

Sybil is Cream Agouti(chocolate based), Ronnie is Golden Agouti(black based) and Gunky is a pale Cinnamon Agouti Roan(chocolate based), I'm not any good at the C series(despite how often Miss fardoooe tutors me!) so I'm not going to be able to make any extreme analysis on the outcome of the colour, also I don't know the full geneotypes of all the gparents involved so I'm just going to guess that all babies are likely to be agoutis of some form with 50% roans.
Sybil should have 100% chocolate based babies and Ronnie should have 50% chocolate based.
I'm aiming for chocolate based roan babies which is a chance of 37.5% again.

We'll see how it turns out!! Fingers crossed for happy healthy mums and babies!
